Scene 1: In the Airport
In a nice afternoon about 3.00 P.M at Semanggi international airport in Malang, it
is crowded by people who have come from many countries and also there are come from
local. Many people walk in their busy. There are many people who wait for their family,
their partner, and may be their relation. Many people busy here, include the cleaning
service.
Act 1: in the Waiting Room
Many people who across and stay here, it make the cleaning service be confused
whit this situation. One of the cleaning service is Richard, he is a handsome man. In the
afternoon, he is wearing blue clothe with a black hat. While Richard moping the floor, he
sings a song, he looks enjoy doing his work. Suddenly, a beautiful girl “Carroll” across the
wet floor, she looks so hurry and she does not look that the floor is wet.
Carroll : (Bbrrruuuuukkk…. She falls down, and directly she angry at a cleaning service)
“Oh... my God. You are the dammed man!!!”
Richard : (He wants helps her to stand up)
Carroll : (angrily, she refuses his help) “You made me unlucky, I do not need your help”
(while she rejects Richard’s hand) “You made me falls down, you make me
get backache” (she still lays on the wet floor)
Richard : “I am sorry Miss! Actually, I do not want to do it”
Carroll :”What do you say?? You do not deliberate to do it??? Where are your eyes???
You are the stupid person in the world!!!!!”
Richard :“Miss… I am sorry before. I think, you have known this announcement board
that this floor is wet”
Carroll : (She is shy and she stares at a cleaning service. She said to her heart that
she does not realize the cleaning service is interested man)

(And suddenly there are two people come from the corner, they look confused,
while they move their head to find someone ).
Aunt and uncle: “Carroll.. Carroll.. Carroll... Where are you?
Carroll : (she hears their voice, then she is moving head to find them. She is
surprise and happy because their coming)
Aunt Decy : “Long time not see you my niece, I miss you!! (While she hugs Carroll)
“How are you? “
Carroll : ”I am not so good”
Uncle Joe :” Oh.. My niece, you look beautiful” (Joe and Carroll shakes hand)
Aunt Decy : ”What happened with you, Honey? You look worry”
Carroll : (She stares a cleaning service and she does not response her aunt’s
question)
Uncle Joe : “do not waste the time. Let’s go home. Come on!!!”
Richard : (He smile at Carroll then he continues his work)
Carroll : (She replies his smile sarcastically. Although, actually she is happy with
his smile)
Act 2: on the way to go home
Uncle Joe looks for a taxi to leave the airport, but actually they get a taxi so long.
Suddenly, there is a blue taxi comes to them, and they take on it. Uncle Joe sits besides the
taxi driver and Carroll and aunt Decy sits behind them. Carroll brings two luggage’s and
two small bag, it takes in baggage. And the taxi rapid to direction of Kediri quickly.
Aunt Decy : “What happened with you, Carroll? Why you look so dejected? What
happened between you and a cleaning service?
Carroll :“My aunt, that cleaning service is stupid man. He is moping at random,
he does not look the situation. There are many people but she still
mopes there. He makes me unlucky; he does not take an announcement
that the floor is wet. I across on the wet floor, so I fall down, I am shy
my aunt there are many people there who look at me. And also I get
backache, then I insult him.
Uncle Joe : (he just silent heard what Carroll said)
Aunt Decy : (she does not want to continue their discussion about it, because the taxi
driver can hear it. Better they discuss about other topic)
Scene 2: In the Aunt’s home
They arrive at home about 6.00 p.m, directly Carroll goes to her room and take
arrest. She is very tired, so she forgets to takes a bath. Aunt Decy and her daughter, Nancy
prepare the dinner in the kitchen, while Uncle Joe arranges the dinning room to especial
dinner to night. The dinner is already not so long time.

Act 1: in the dinning room
To night, their dinning room looks so nite. Aunt Decy, Uncle Joe, and Nancy
already there, they just wait for Carroll. They have a traditional menu of Kediri for dinner
to night. Long time she does not come in the dinning room yet, till they impatient wait for
Carroll.
Aunt Decy : “Carroll… Carroll… what are you doing there? We have already to
dinner. We just wait for you, quickly Honey!!!”
Carroll : (at the same time, in her room, while she has make up, she replies her
Aunt) “Yes, my Aunt! Wait for a minute” (She comes in the dinning
room, she sits besides Nancy)
(And then, the dinner already. When Carroll had know the menu, she feels uncomfortable
because she does not enjoy this menu, she has never found this menu before, and she feels
repugnant.)
Aunt Decy : “Come on Carroll!! Last eat this food! It is so nice”
Nancy : “Yeach, my sister. You must eat this food. This is special menu tonight.
We have Tumpang for main course”
Carroll : (she just silent while pout in distance)
Uncle Joe : “This menu is one of favorite food in Kediri, and we have Krupuk Upil
or Peyek ate with it” (while Uncle Joe shows Tumpang and tell the way
to eat it)
Aunt Decy : “it is Tumpang, it made from Tempe Busuk which had cooked with
seven traditional flavors, so it makes Tumpang so nice”
Uncle Joe : “Come on Carroll! You should try it, like me! It so delicious”
Carroll (with wry smile, she tries take Tumpang a little, but after she ate it, she
feels her stomach become upset) “excuse me, I want go to bath room. I
will vomit”
(Her Aunt’s family laugh, because look at Carroll action. Carroll back from bath room, she
hungry but she does not want to eat Tumpang again. Then she takes some bread for her
dinner. And her Aunt has advice to Carroll )
Aunt Decy : “Carroll, you must usual with the menu here, because Tumpang is the
traditional food and it is one of the favorite food in Kediri. If you enjoy
with the food, you will enjoy the condition too”
(It is mean that Carroll can adapt well whit the environment. Because Carroll’s
planning is she going to live here forever, because she was lonely in her country after she
was orphan?)
Uncle Joe : “Carroll, you must know about the environment around this house, so
that you are usual live here”
Aunt Decy : “if you want to know more about the environment her, you should jog
every morning”

Carroll : (she agree do it) “Yes my Aunt, I like it. There, I usually jog every
morning. Tomorrong morning I want to jog, but Nancy must accompany
me.”
Aunt Decy : “Nancy! Tomorrow you must accompany Carroll to jog in the garden”
Nancy : “Yeach Mom, I am ready”
(While they talk about everything, actually almost midnight.)
Scene 3: In the Garden
At early morning, Aunt Decy’s families have got up. Nancy and father clean the
house, include the yard. And Aunt Decy prepares the breakfast. Carroll does not usual get
up early, because of her habit there. They have finished their work, then Carroll just gets
up.
Act 1: Still in Aunt’s home
The breakfast has already, then they have breakfast together. Menu for this morning
is Pecel, Carroll tries to eat it. In her heart she said that Pecel is nice enough. After Carroll
had taken a bath, she asks her niece to jogging in the garden.
Carroll : “Nancy… lets jogging with me! What are you doing? I wait for you in the
living room”
Nancy : (she known that in America Carroll always did it) “Ok, guys… but, we
must wear the sport cloth”
Carroll : “Oh.. Yes. I almost forget it. Wait for minute”
(They change their clothe with sport cloth)
Carroll : “Come on Nancy, let’s go!!!”
Nancy : “I am ready… go go go!!!”
Aunt Decy : “Wooow… you look so cool, where will you go?”
Nancy : “We will jogging in the garden Mom”
Aunt Decy : “Oh, it is good. I need some vegetables to cook for lunch. Whereas you
jogging get the vegetables buy!”
Nancy : (while receive money for her Mom, she says): “Ok Mom…”
Act 2: in the Garden
Carroll and Nancy arrived in the garden. The garden so crowded because many
people here and it is Sunday. They go around the garden, when Carroll tired, she asks
Nancy to sit down under a big tree. Then, there is a vegetable seller across in front of them.
The vegetables seller is Richard, the handsome man who works in the airport as a cleaning
service.
Nancy : “Hiii… vegetables seller!!! I need some vegetables!”
Richard : “Yes, Miss..” (Then, he stops)
(Nancy chooses some vegetables, and Carroll follows her. When Carroll looks the
vegetables seller, she is very surprise and directly she insults him..)

Carroll : “Ooh… you are the damn man. Where are your eyes?? When in the air
port, you make me unlucky, you make me falling down and make me get
backache. You are stupid man in the world!!! And you…”
Nancy : (Nancy stop her) “enough, enough!! Do not be angry my sister, it is
impolite.”
(The man does not know that this girl is someone who had angry at him in the airport
because of an accident. The man was ask her apologize, but she does not apologize him.
And Nancy asks to Carroll to tell what happen between Carroll and him. )
Nancy : (she takes Carroll’s hand, and gives an advice to Carroll) “Do not be
angry my sister, it just wastes the time and also it is impolite. He is a
handsome and kind man in this village”
Carroll : (she astonished what Nancy said, she feels regretted after abuse him. (Then
she walks slowly to Richard and she wants to forgive him and also want apologize for her
insulted, although she shy)
(And then, they introduce each other).
Carroll : “I’m so sorry” (while she shy, she introduce her name to Richard) “my
name is Carroll, I leave at Aunt Decy’s house. And, how about you?”
Nancy : (she only laugh look at Carroll act)
Richard : “My name is Richard. I am a cleaning service in the airport, but in the
morning I sell vegetables to fulfill my necessaries”
(Carroll cannot stop to stare at Richard and Richard too. They look interested each other.
And Nancy just laughs).
Scene 4: In the Aunt’s Home
After Carroll and Nancy got some vegetables from the handsome man, they go
home. On the way, Carroll just silent because she dazed think of the handsome man,
Richard. And Nancy only laugh look at Carroll’s act.
Act I: In the kitchen
Carroll and Nancy arrive at home, then directly Carroll goes to the kitchen and
gives the vegetables to her Aunt. Carroll helps her Aunt to prepare the lunch in the kitchen,
she washes the vegetables then she cuts it. Aunt Decy very glade because Carroll does not
spoilt . They talk about everything.
Carroll : “My Aunt, I want to familiar about this environment. How, if I will visit
our neighbor?”
Aunt Decy : “Ooh.. Well! It is never mind sweety. If you know the environment you
will feel comfort”
Carroll : “Thanks for your support, my Aunt”
(An instant they silent )
Carroll : “My Aunt, do you know the vegetable seller in this village? How do you
think about him?”

Aunt Decy : ”Ooh… Richard, yes I know him. Why?”
Carroll : “How do you think about him?”
Aunt Decy : “He is a handsome man; although he is a poor people he is kind. What’s
up? How about you’re feeling at him, Carroll?”
Carroll : (Her face directly becomes reddish; she is shy because her Aunt hazed
her)
Aunt Decy : “Ooaaalaah… I know, why suddenly you ask about him, you loved him,
aren’t you???”
(Actually, Carroll love Richard, and her Aunt has gees it. Carroll does not admit that she
falls in love with him).
Carroll : “No.. nooo.. my Aunt, I dislike him.” (She shies if her Aunt knows that
she loves Richard, but Carroll does not care about his background)
Scene 5: In the Richard's house
Richard has a simple house, his house consist of two living rooms, a kitchen and a
praying room. Even though he has a small house, but he is happy live here, because he
thinks that his house is paradise for him.
Act 1: In the living room
After Richard finishes his activity today, he takes a rest and sits in the living room,
because he feels tired after he works hard full day. In this broken seat, he is silent and has a
daydream about Carroll. Suddenly his mother comes to him with bring a cup of coffee and
it makes him shock. Because his mother takes position beside him, so he has to gets up
from his dream.
Richard : "Woo…My Mom, what are you doing here? You make me shock! Do
you have finished your work? I am very tired Mom…And also confused
with my mind!" (His Mom smiles and sits down more closed with his
child to show her Affection and try to ask him what problem does he
has???)
Mother :" Hmm…I look at you for long minutes ago baby…When I am still
cooking inss the kitchen, you look so strange…You never like this
Honey!! Tell me please, what happened with you? Do you have a
Problem with your job or with your partner maybe?"
Richard : (Richard just is silent and does not hear mother's question)
Mother :"Halloo…My sweet child, what are you thinking? Are you sleepy...Or
daydream? Please honey…Do not make me feel sorrow with your
attitude!" (His mother repeat her question until three times and Richard
become surprised with her third question, he realize that he has just
daydream and make his mother become sorrow)

Richard : "I am so sorry Mom, I've made a mistake…I do not know with my heart.
I can not tell you what happened with me, maybe I just need much time
to explain. I hope you can understand what I want Mom…"
Mother : "Never mind honey…I can understand…!!!It's OK, maybe you need a
time for take a rest, you look so tired!"
(And his mother goes on into her room with a face that full of question mark)
Richard : (He speaks slowly after her Mom go on)"I am sorry Mom, I can not make
you happy, and I always make you sorrow. I think that I need much time
to explain my conscience to you about Carroll. I know you will not allow
me to be close with Carroll, because you disagree with our love. But I
will keep this love until whenever Mom…Because I love her so much!"
(After this he go on into his bedroom to change his clothes and take a bath Before he
sleeps)
Scene 6: In the Richard's house
Day by day has gone, he though for a long time, he feels that today is the time to
share his mother about his conscience, because he is not calm unless he does not tell about
his feels vastly.
Act 1: In the verandah
He comes to his mother when his mother sits down in the verandah while make a
flower from sedotan, he sits down beside his mother and try to start his conversation with
his small talk.
Richard : "Hii Mom…What are you doing? Hmm…Your flowers are so beautiful,
you make them became interest to stare it. You are a creative Mom…".
(They are smile to each other and it makes him become plunge, because
he can look at her beautiful smile after he made her feels sorrow last
day)
Mother : "Ahh…You are!!! You make me fly baby…"(His Mom laughs and
strokes his head)
Richard : "Ooo yach!! Mom…Last time I say that I am going to tell you about my
conscience, I think this day is right time to share with you." (He become
nervous and he feel salting in front of his Mom…)
Mother : "Alhamdulillah babe… (His Mom embraces him)! Finally you realize and
want to tell about your conscience to me. OK …Actually what happened
with? you yesterday?" (His Mom finishes her activity and start to hear
his child)
Richard : "Actually I am falling in love with a rich, beautiful and a kind girl which
live near our house, she is Carroll Mom…She…."
Mother : "Stop…I don't want to hear your conscience honey"

(Suddenly Mom stops his talk in the middle of their conversation; she is shock when she
knows that her child has feeling to Carroll, a rich girl. And then she leaves him from the
verandah without saying anything)
Richard : (he call his Mom loudly) "Mom…What's wrong with me? Why do you
leave me alone without hear my conscience until the end…?" (He has
made mistake
(again with his Mom, he just silent, he thinks how to solve this problem, he is confused, he
does not know what should he do, because his feeling can not be lie, he do love Carroll, but
in the other side he has to think about his Mom's feeling. He bored with this situation, so he
goes out and brings his vegetables to sell it around the village again)
Scene 7: In the Carroll Aunt's house
As usual Richard sells his vegetables around this villages, when he walked in front
of Carroll Aunt's house, fortunately he looks at Carroll is reading a newspaper in the
garden, he efforts to close her.
Act 1: In the Garden
At that time, Richard comes to her and he makes small talk. He pretends to offer his
vegetables to her. And finally they are able to make a conversation.
Richard : "Hii Carroll…What news do you read? Hem…I know, you read news
about cooking ?! Ben you are able to cook, you can not cook…! "(He
Effort to make her smile…)
Carroll :" Hmm…you want to know …! He…he…" (They are laugh together)"O
by the way what are you doing here? Do you miss me Richard? Just
Kidding coy!!" (Carroll comes to him and she thinks that it is a good
time to Invite him to go to dinner together at café, so it will make them
know to each Other. And she try to ask him about her plan)
"Richard : are you free tonight? I want to hang out and have dinner with you at café
near from here, if you are free…But if you are not free, never mind!
Maybe we still have many times…"
Richard : (But Richard is confused, in one side his heart said that he does not want
to make his Mom angry to him, but in the other side he can not refuse
Carroll’s invitation. Finally he make decides…)"Of course sweetly, I
always any times for you, because nothing reason to refuse your
invitation, I always free every night. I do not want to miss the good time
with you…" (Richard effort to touch her heart with his words)
Carroll : "Are you nggombal? Its OK…We will meet at Love café at 07.00 P.M
Tonight. Deal…?"
Richard :" OK deal…I will waiting for you there! Carroll, I have to go now
because I have to finish my this work and then I have to go to airport to

do my work there before. We will meet again at café tonight, OK…? See
you…"
Carroll : "See you too…Take care on the way!!!" (And Richard goes on to leave
her)
Scene 8: Carroll's room
Here, Carroll chooses the best clothes in her cupboard; he is confusing to choose the
clothes that will make her look beautiful when she dates with Richard, her soul mate.
Act 1: In the corner of Carroll's room
In this place, she starts to prepare all of her necessary to make a date with Richard,
but she is still confused about what clothes are matches for her. Finally she remembers that
her cousin has a hobby that is making up. Then she calls her to help her to choose the best
clothes and make her up.
Carroll: "Nancy…Nancy…" (She calls her cousin many times, but nothing response
from her. Then she meets her aunt…). "Aunt Decy, do you know where is
Carroll? I have called her many times but nothing response from her".
Aunt : "Woo…You are looking for her to? Maybe she is playing badminton in
the garden, because I meet her 10 minutes ago there, try to look for her
there, OK!"
Carroll : "OK my lovely aunt…I'll try to go there. Thanks a lot my aunt…!"
(Then she run fast at garden and she finds that her cousin is playing
badminton with her friend, she close her cousin and…)
Nancy : "What's wrong Carroll? Why are you running fast? Is there any
something Wrong that… "(Suddenly Carroll stops her question!)
Carroll : "Stop my sweaty cousin… Your questions like a reporter?! I need your
help do you want to help me? Just for moment!!! Swear…"
Nancy : "It's OK my cousin…Just moment…! Don't too long…"(Then they walk
to Carroll's room)
Carroll : "Nan…I will make a date with someone tonight, but I don't know what
clothes are suitable for me to go dinner? I want to become perfect
tonight because I will make a date with someone who has take my heart!
(Carroll becomes shy with her statement)
Nancy : "You are falling in love??? With whom??? Of course this boy very lucky,
because she able to get Carroll's heart, one of a kind and beautiful girl in
this village…"
Carroll : "Ah you are…!!! OK, by the way what clothes…I cannot be patient!! "
(She asks Nancy to hurry to choose her clothes)
Nancy : "OK…"(Then she goes to close Carroll's cupboard and choose some
clothes for Carroll). "I think this pink t-shirt and blue jeans will make

you look so beautiful." (And she take a pair of high hills for
him)."Hmm…You look so perfect to make a date tonight!!"
Carroll : "Are you sure that I has looked beautiful? It's OK…Thanks baby!!
Oops…Once again, I can't make up…Could you help me?"
Nancy : "Of course baby… I will help you as can as possible" (Then Nancy start
to make up Carroll's face, she is very smart to make someone becomes
beautiful. Carroll also happy, because she has a cousin who loves and
care with her)"OK Carroll, you are ready to go make a date now, I wish
you luck!!"
Carroll : "Thanks sweaty…you are my beloved cousin, love you and bye…" (and
she goes to café directly by motorcycle)
Scene 9: At Café
Today, Richard has appointment with Carroll to make a date in a café near their
house. Richard wears a blue dark shirt and blue jeans. It makes Richard looks so handsome,
he does not forget use a perfume so it makes Carroll more interested to him.
Act 1: In the corner of cafe
Richard chooses a chair in the corner of café, to make easy Carroll to find him.
Richard ha waited Carroll for 15 minutes with a cup of coffee and a cigarette in his hand, so
he does not feel lonely. Then Carroll comes with a little run, because she was coming late.
Carroll : "I am so sorry, Richard!!! I come late, because the street so crowded."
(She lies compulsively because she is shy, when she has talk honestly
that actually she is late because she has to choose the best clothes to her
date)
Richard : (he does not care about her coming late)." OK never mind, sit down
please!! What drink do you want?" (While he calls the waiter)
Carroll : "I want a glass of orange juice."
Waiter : "Yes, miss…Wait for moment"(The waiter goes to the kitchen, and not
so long she back while bring a glass of orange juice and a small tray)
"Here you are miss!!"
Carroll : "Thank you"
Waiter : "You are welcome"
(Then Carroll drinks her orange juice and he tries to start their conversation)
Richard : "How are you today?"
Carroll : " I am fine, thanks. How about you?"
Richard : "I am fine too, how? Do you like this place?"
Carroll : "Ooo…I very like it, because this place very romantic for us!"
Richard : (In the middle of their conversation, he tries to reveal his feeling love to
Carroll, he feels so hard to do it, but in the other side he must do it. With
much confidence, he reveals his feeling)
Carroll : "Yes, what's up Richard?"

Richard : "ehmm… I want to say something to you"
Carroll : "yes, I will hear you."
Richard : "I say honestly that I love you!!!
Carroll l: (she smile and just silent, she is shy but she is very happy)
Richard : "And you, Carroll? How, about your feeling about me?"
Carroll : (Actually, she wants to replies Richard statement, but it so hard. She
cannot say anything)
Richard : "I still wait for your answer whenever you want to answer it" (then
Richard tells about his family background) "actually, I come from a low
class in this village, I am a poor people. My father was die when I was
Child, and my mother is just a farmer and sometime she sews clothes to
fulfil our necessaries. But now, I am very happy because I get a job in
the airport, even though as a cleaning service, in the afternoon and in the
morning I sell vegetables"
Carroll : "Well Richard, I proud of you"
Richard : "I really love you!!! But my mother dislike when I closer with you,
because you are rich"
Carroll : (she does not force his love, but she cannot answer it yet) "I need time
to think about it. Give me a time, pleas! Or when you so busy, I will
send a letter for you to answer it" (then she leaves Richard in the corner
of cafe alone)
Scene 10: In the Aunt’s Home
As usual, aunt’s home is always clean, because Nancy always helps her to clean the
house. There is not stain in the floor; the yard is always swept by Nancy. It makes the
situation of this house is very nice. This morning after Aunt and Nancy do their house
work, they take a rest in the living room. While reading a newspaper that he always buy
everyday. And they often read newspaper and make kidding each other, share about
something unimportant. As like they do at that time.
Act 1: In the living room
Aunt and Nancy take a rest in the living room after finishing their house work. They
sit on a sofa. They chat each other. Nancy tells about her funny friend and school to her
mother. They look so closed. They like a friends, everything that happened to Nancy, she
always tell to his mother and mother too. In the middle of their joke, suddenly Carroll
comes to invite them.
Aunt and Nancy : ha ha ha ha ha (They laugh when telling about Nancy’s funny friend)
Aunt : ohw… really? When it happens? Never, have I know about this fun
story.. How can it happend?
Nancy : mom…I just can laugh ha ha ha, when I remember it. I can stop to
laugh mom.( and suddenly, Carroll comes to invite them)

Aunt : ohww Carroll.. you are surprising me…what happened? Why do
you look confused? Is there something wrong happened to you? Tell to
Aunt…(Nancy looks Carroll, she is confused, she is silent)
Carroll :ehmm ehmm Aunt… I want to tell you about something… something
that happened yesterday. This makes me so confused. I confuse to
answer…fuuuuh Aunt what should I do? I really need your suggestion.
Aunt : Do what? Tell to Aunt first, then I will help you.. okey honey,
now…lets tell to me….
Carroll : yesterday night… when I made a date with Richard. Ehhm eahmm
fuuuuh Aunt I am shy to tell to you…(she is confused to say what he
want to say to Aunt, she holds her hand Aunt…Richard) Richard said
he loves me, he want to be closed with me. . . . at that time I can
answer his offer because I was shy and confused …what is your point
of few about it? Give suggestion to me Aunt.
Aunt : what? Richard? He is a brave man, ohwwww really? he is brave to
say like that to you? Wow… I am so surprised… how can he say like
that?
Nancy ; hey Carroll is it true? You are lucky girl Carroll, Richard is kind,
handsome, sweet, cute…huh there is not girl who does not love him... I
proud of you... You are awesome. I guarantee many girls here will be
jealous with you…now I ask u again, is it true? Can make him love
you?
Aunt : Nancy….hush..! Let Carroll to answer my questions…!
Nancy : Mom….(She said disappointedly)
Carroll : Yach… aunt... He said love me….he ask me “how about you Carroll?
Do you love me too? Please answer honestly..” but at that time I was
speechless, I get difficulty to say what I want to say. I have not given
him the answer. I said to him that I need a time to think. I will answer
by sending him a letter…now I want to ask you aunt, what should I
do? What should I write in the letter?
Aunt : Okay before I will give u suggestions, aunt wants to ask you…Do
you love Richard? Are you interested to him?
Carroll : honestly… I love him too.. i am interested to him.. but I do not want
to be hurry to answer,, because if my family do not agree if I have
relation with him, I will not receive his love.. But if my family agree,
with pleasure I will receive his love. What is your opinion aunt?
Aunt : Carroll… I will always support you, and I am sure uncle and Nancy
will support you too... Is it right Nancy?
Nancy : of course, I am agreeing, because Richard is a good man, and you are

Scene 11: in the Richard home
Richard’s home looks so simple from in front, there are many trees and flowers in
his yard. The trees and flowers arrange beautifully, so, that make his house looks shaded
and comfort. There is not a leave falls in the yard. Because mother never forget to sweeps
the floor. every week mother always cut the leaves, always water the plant everyday. It is a
simple and beautiful home.
Act 1 : in the living room
Richard's mother is sawing the clothes, she saws patiently, although she feels so
tired. She has to saw, because it is her clothes that she often wears when she comes to field.
When she enjoys sawing, suddenly there is someone knocking the door. She stop to saw ,
she take the clothes on the table. And will continue after the guest gi from his house.
Post man : Assalamualaikum (the post man knocks the door)
Richard's mother : Who are you? (she take her clothes on the table and walk to open the
door, when she open the door, she was surprised). Oooh…post man..?
Post man :yes I am, mom it is Richard’s home?
Richard's mother : Oo…yaa..what happened sir? (mother is confused, because never has a
postman come to her house)
Postman : Mom… this is for Richard, someone names Carroll sent this letter for
him.(the post man give a letter for Richard’s mother). Ok mom. Thank
you, I have to go and continue my work.
Richard's mother : You are welcome.. be careful (then mother closes the door, and she
directly opens the door, she is embittered what Carroll has been
written)….Carroll?? this is from Carroll? She said that she love my son!?
(mother is sock and surprised)…oh God. why my son does not listen to
me..(mother so sad, she cries, she directly touches her head and calls
Richard). Richard …… Richard ..!!!!
Richard : Ya mom…wait a minute. what happen? (Richard is confused, when
looking at her mother face, she looks so angry) mom…what happen with
you? (mother look at his eyes than she shows Carroll’s letter to Richard)

Richard's mother : What does it mean? Why do not you listen to me? You make me
disappointed, do you choose her than your mother?
Richard :mom…I am so sorry, I need your understanding, mom… I really love
her, I want you can understand mom.
Richard's mother : Enough….!!! Shut up…!!
Richard : Mom please mom….please, do not say like that….(Richard hold his
mother hand, but mother refused his hand, mother just silent and
Richard goes out from house )
Scene 12 : On the way
Richard is sad, he walks and walks then he decides to go to Rudy's home, because
he often goes to there and share about his problem. Rudy's home is far enough from his
house. In the middle of his walks, his foot feels tired then he decides to stop walking and
takes a rest under the trees. Here he imagines about his future, he thinks about his mother
and Carroll. He said to him self that he has to solve this problem as soon as possible. Then
he continues his walk to go to Rudy's home.
Act 1 : In the Rudy's home
Finally, he arrives at Rudy’s home, he looks from in front then he looks Pujianto.
He is rudy's gardener. Pujianto is cutting the grass, because of that time, the garden is dirty,
Richard calls Pujianto loudly. But, Pujianto does not listen because he is deaf. So, Richard
walks to invite him.
Richard : Hay Pujianto? How are you? (he has to make conversation with
Pujianto closely, so that make Pujianto can hear clearly)
Pujianto : Oooee….. Richard..(he is surprised) oooo I am fine. long time not see.
where you go? Are you busy?
Richard : Ooo yes. I am busy, in the morning, I have to sell vegetables and in the
afternoon I have to go to air port as a cleaning service.
Pujianto : Oooo.. ya I see, by the way, I think there is something wrong. What
happen with you? You have problem?
Richard : (he smiles) a little…but, I am fine. Oh..ya…where is Rudy? I want to
meet him. Is he at home?
Pujianto : Yes he is….let's follow me. (pujianto open the door and ask Richard to
take a sit then he leaves Richard for a minute) wait a minute I call ruddy
first, he is still sleep, I have to wake him up.
Richard : O.k. problem
Pujianto : Boosss..bossss….!!!! (he knocks Rudy’s room and enters the room)
boss. wake up please…there is someone want to meet you, he is waiting
for you in the living room.
Rudy : Emmmmm…(still close his eyes, he feel so tired.) who wants to meet
me?

Pujianto :he is your friend, Richard..
Rudy : What??!!! Richard?? (he directly open his eyes)…what happen ya? Ok.
now, you accompany Richard first and I will go to the bathroom to wash
my face.
Pujianto : Ok bos..do not forget to wash your teeth.. (kidding then he gets out
from Rudy’s room and closes the door)
Pujianto : Sorry..mr.richard..you wait a long time, boss still at the bathroom.
Maybe, 5 minutes later, he will finish. Go a head to eat the snack.
Richard : Ok thank you... (Rudy comes and invite Richard surprise)
Rudy : Owwwww Richard,,, you look so thin. (Rudy ask pujianto to continue
his work) what happen?
Richard : (than Richard share his problem) Rudy I have a problem, can you help
me?
Rudy : Of course….i will help you; I am your friend you know?
Richard : I have a problem, I am falling in love with a girl, name Carroll, she is
beautiful and rich. But, my mother does not agree, if I have relation with
her. To day, my mother read Carroll’s letter. The letter is written that she
love me too. My mother very angry, she is disappointed. Because
according her, I do not listen to her advice. Now, what should I do?
Choose my mother or Carroll?
Rudy : (Rudy gives an advice wisely) according to me, you have to have a
good time to share with your mother. I am sure that your mother will
understand you.
Richard : Oh no… I have tried to convince her, but it failed. He does not agree
with me…. He does not like if I have something with Carroll.. because I
comes from pure family, she comes from rich family…my mother is
afraid I cannot full Carroll’s necessary.. she is afraid Carroll will not
receive the economical condition of Richard… I am confused…
Rudy : Oke… how if you comes to Carroll, say to her, what should this
relation will be continue.. tell to her about your mother.. if he loves you,
he will love you the way you are.. and she will be struggle to try to save
her relation with you…lets come to her house.. tell to her as soon as
possible.. oke friend??
Richard : Oke I agree, I will try to tell and say to Carroll, I really hope she will
understand. Now I want to come to Carroll, thanks Rudy… you are my
best friend…

Scene 13 : in Aunt's home
Richard is nervous when he arrives in aunt's home, he has to be brave to face this
problem. He felt guilty to Carroll, he is afraid if Carroll will be sad. After he is in front of
the door, first he pray for his effort will be success then, he directly opens the door.. he
knocks the door but there is no someone opens it.
Act 1 : In the living room
After knocking the door about three times, Richard looks the window.. he looks
Carroll is in the kitchen, then he knocks the door again while calling Carroll. After long
time he waits, finally the door is opened by Carroll who looks so casual today because she
wears t-shirt and skirt. Richard is glad to see Carroll, then…
Richard : You look so sweet today…. I do not know why it makes you looks
sweet.
Carroll : Really? (her face became red, she is shy)… Richard.. come in…take a
sit… what happened?
Richard :I want to say something important about us, I want you to not be sad. It
is about my mother, do you know Carroll? My mother does not agree
with our relation.
Carroll :why not ?
Richard : Ya…because, you are a rich girl and I am a poor man. Mother afraid if
I can give that you want.
Carroll :(she is sad than cry) then, what should I do? Am I wrong have relation
with you? (suddenly aunt come, because she hears that Carroll is
crying)
Aunt : What happen? (she sits beside Carroll and makes calm Carroll) what
happen Richard? Why is she crying? Do you make her sad?
Richard : I am so sorry aunt. I never tough to make her sad, it is because my
mother , she does not agree with our relation because Carroll is a rich
girls and I am a poor man.
Aunt : Ok.. I will help you, I promise to help this problem becomes clear. I am
agree with your relation with Carroll. I think a poor or rich is not a big
problem. If you love Carroll so much, you have to be brave and struggle
to save your love.
Richard : Thank you so much aunt. You are a kind and wise women. (suddenly
uncle Joe goes home from his work)
Uncle : Is there any problem? What happen honey? (she ask to his wife)
Aunt Desy : (she whispers about the problem to uncle slowly)…
Uncle : Ow …ok now…how if we come to your home, we will face your
mother, hopefully we can solve this problem well. How ?
Richard : O.k. is good idea.
Uncle : Nancy …Nancy …come here..

Uncle : Father, mother and Carroll will leave home, please, you stay at home. I

Scene 14: In The Richard’s Home
Carroll, Richard, Aunt Decy, and Uncle Joe come to Richard’ home, Mother’s
Richard was sweeping the yard. She was shock because of their coming. She didn’t know
why they come together.
Act 1 : In The Yard
Not for among time, Carroll, Richard, Aunt Decy and Uncle Joe arrived in front of
Richard’s house. They saw Richard’s mother was sweeping the yard.
Mother : (little angry) what’s happen in here? Why do you come here together in
my house?
Richard : Mom... they want to talk to you.
Mother : No. I don’t want to talk with them (show angry face to them).
Richard : Mom...they want to talk to you wisely. They don’t like another people
whom they like to different and they are good people.
Mother : Richard, you must remember that who you are and who they are!! We
are poor people while they are rich people which their live much
different with our live. I don’t agree if you have any relationship with
Carroll the Nephew of that rich people
Aunt Decy : .(Then, aunt Decy answers the Richard’s mother said.)No. mom...we
don’t have any bad thought which you said like that. We are same as like
you. We want you to give permitting to Richard to marry wit our
nephew, because they can’t separate each other.
Mother : No. I don’t want….(After Carol listened Richard’s mother said, she
was crying and Uncle Joe tries to calm down her).
Uncle Joe : Carroll, please be calm… everything is gone be alright. You must sure
there will be a out way to solve this problem.(hold her back and looks so
sad).
Carroll : But uncle…. His mother doesn’t want to give permitting to us!!!
Aunt Decy : (try again to convince Richard’s mother). Mom…Carroll very love
with your son neither your son. They don’t want to separate each other.
If the people were falling in love, they don’t know the difference
between them. I hope you will give permitting to them.
Mother : (she shakes her head. She still don’t want to give them permitting).

Richard : (try to make her mother calm down. He holds her mother’s arms).
Mom….fine. I need several time to think about it. I want Carroll and you
all to go home.
Richard : But mom…they want to talk to you….
Mother : I just want them to go home. I need time to think it in quite place…
Uncle Joe : fine…we’ll go home soon(Then, they go home together)
SCENE 15
(After they went to home, the mother goes inside in the house and enters her room.
Then, she looks up father’s picture and she is thinking for a while).
Mother : (look at the picture). Father, why do you leave me? I’m so miss you. Our son
became a young man and he will marry with the girl that he loved. But, she is a rich girl. It
is different with our condition. What should I do? Am I giving them permitting to marry?
Actually, I want to see our son happy when he married with her. I’m afraid if he doesn’t
happy when he married her because or our condition.( then, she cries ).
Richard :( Walk into the room). Mom, why do you cry? What happened to you?
Mother : No…I’m ok. Did you eat? If you don’t eat please eat soon.
Richard : YA... Mom. I had eaten. Mom, you shouldn’t worry about me, because
all of people in this world are same. We love each other without see the
position of our position. Carroll love me and you she doesn’t see where I
came from.( hold his mother’s arm).
Mother : (she huge her son strongly). Richard, I’m so love you and want to see
you became successful person. I hope you will happy if you married her.
Now, after I thought it, I’ll agree your relationship with Carroll.
Richard : Right mom??(Looks surprise). Do you be honest to me?? (Looks
happy)

Mother : Yes son, I agree your relationship with Carroll (smile to Richard).
Richard : Thank you so much mom (huge his mother).
Mother : Son. There is something which will give to you. (Take a ring from the
buffet).
Richard : What is it mom??
Mother : It is a ring. Please give this ring to Carroll; you must give it when you
marry her. (Smile to her son).
Richard : Thanks a lot mom. (Then, he decides to call Carroll. He wants Carroll
know the good news.)
SCENE 16
In the Nancy’s house, they were busy to prepare every things will be served to
Richard family. They were cooking some special food from morning

Carol : My aunt. Is the food ready to serve?
Nancy : Don’t worry about it. It was ready to serve. But, you’ll bring it out
Carol : It is ok my aunt
(Not for a long time Richard and his mother arrived and the came into the house).
Mother and Richard : Assalamu’alaikum
Aunt and uncle Wa’alaikum salam. Please come in. sit down please!
Mother : Alhamdulillah, we are fine. Before, I talked my purpose to come
here, I want to ask apologize to Carroll’s family about my false
yesterday. Honestly, I’m so confused what will I said to this family. I
want ask a lot of to you.
Uncle Joe : It’s doesn’t matter, we understand you and realize your positions as
single parents.
Mother : I thought that my son will happy if he marries to Carroll. Give me
permitting to ask Carroll becomes Richard’s wife??
Uncle Joe : (smile and want say good word). Alhamdulillah, finally mother can
permits them to marry and agrees with the relation among us.
Aunt Decy : yes mom, thanks for your good response
(then Carroll came into when they are talking it while bringing some foods and waters for
them).
Mother : Please why do you give me special gift?
Carroll : It’s nothing mom. It just a water. Please, enjoy it
Mother and Richard : thanks so much.
Carroll : (come into the kitchen).
Uncle Joe : We are very happy after heard it. We hope this good relation will be
continuing ever after. When the ceremony will be done?
Mother : According to me, soon will be better for to them.
Aunt Decy : If it is done in the mosque which is located in the centre of the
village? Is it good idea?
Mother : it’s a big deal.
Aunt Decy : please eat the foods.
Mother and Richard : Yes…..
(After they have big a deal mother and Richard ask to go home).
Mother : Ok. Sir we want to ask permitting to go home.
Aunt Decy : Yes. Thanks for your coming. And we’ll go to your house soon to
decide the date of their marrying.
Mother : Yes. We’ll wait your coming too. With my pleasure.
